Glencoe High School I Hillsboro, OR
Glencoe High School was built in the early 1980’s; and reflects the school design style of that era – minimum windows, simple shapes and poorly defined entries. The school’s layout creates safety and security concerns that were not apparent at that time. The revised design clearly identifies a secured point of entry, locates the main office, student services and library services are adjacent to the entry to maintain passive supervision and controlled entry access. Planning service provided as Principal of BLRB Architects.

Gresham High School I Gresham, OR
Gresham High School has been the community high school since 1906. The original building was partially replaced with extensive alteration made through the Work Progress Administration in 1940. The school received 14 additions over the following 80 years. In 2021, the “new” Gresham High school design open for students. The design honors the past and introduces a new vision for the Gresham schools and community. The new Gresham is a gateway building at the corner of Main and Division. Planning service provided as Principal of BLRB Architects.

Happy Valley City Hall
The City of Happy Valley had outgrown its farmhouse city hall in the center of Happy Valley’s residential community. A new city hall would be relocated on a major commercial street and expand to house all public services. The sloped roofs, varying heights, clarity of the front door and reinforcement of street corners provided The City with a design that exemplifies the “Happy Valley Design” established as the standard all future developments in Happy Valley. Design services provided as Principal of DLR Architects.

James John Elementary I Portland, OR
Historic James John Elementary is one of Portland Public schools built in 1929; and designed in the Classical Revival architectural style. The addition’s scope of the work included a wheelchair accessible entry, elevator access to the upper floor and exit stairway from a dead-end upper hallway. The design met the hopes and expectations of the surrounding community and complied with Oregon’s State Historical Preservation Office’s guidelines. Design services provided as Principal of BLRB Architects.

Kennedy High School I Mt. Angel, OR
Kennedy High School is a mid-century modern school when schools were addressing the demand for post-war enrollment growth. School designs were fast to construct, inexpensive and profoundly influenced by a factory model. The renovation and addition design updated the school to meet contemporary learning environmental needs and school safety. The design integrated previously, underutilized areas and added new spaces to create a safe and secure entry and public space for students. Design services provided as Principal of BLRB Architects..

U of O Pape Field I Eugene, OR
University of Oregon’s operations needed space for a football facility expansion adjacent to Autzen Stadium. The practice fields west of Autzen were jointly used by football, soccer, and lacrosse. Those fields were relocated and expanded to the east of Autzen, adjacent to PK Park. Pape Field provides a standalone faciliity for Collegiate Soccer and Lacrosse. The design created an exciting Collegiate Athletic venue commensurate with other University of Oregon facilities with a significantly smaller budget. Design services provided as Principal of DLR Architects.
